Bath – Food and Drinks

The Herd Steak

This restaurant is not for vegetarians, I’ll tell you. The meat was so tender and tasty that I just wished we had bigger portions. I called this restaurant on Wednesday to book a table for the following Saturday and the only options they had were at 16:45 or 21:30. By this you can see how popular this restaurant is. The rustic and intimate environment added to delicious food makes this restaurant a good choice for a dinner.

Raven

If there is a place in the city that I will advise you to not miss it is the Raven. This pub has the most amazing cider, brand called “Anning’s”. We had dinner in here, and I am going to be honest – the food is average pub food – but the atmosphere is good and the drinks (not only cider) are good. We were a happy couple in here. If you want a traditional English experience the Raven is the place to go to.

Alfalafel

I am sure I would give 5 out of 5 for this shop if I was hungry when we bought the falafel wrap. During our time in Bath, we saw this fast food shop a thousand times. And we ended up here just because we are greedy. One of the nights after dinner we walked around but because of lockdown restrictions almost all of the places were closed or closing. For that reason we went to a supermarket buy some drinks and because with drinks we wanted snacks we chose to buy the falafel wrap. We were still full of our dinner, but we still dug in it. I can assure you I barely could breathe after eating it. But it was delicious so even without hunger you will enjoy it. Highly recommend it.

Main plaza

In the main plaza of Bath you will find some counters selling food. We went for a quick hot dog. It is a quick and tasty choice for those who are enjoying walking around and do not fancy finding a place to stop and sit (or just not yet).

Crystal Palace

This pub in the centre of Bath was our first experience – food and drink wise – in Bath. Due to the new rules in every pub we had to eat to drink. For that reason, we ordered some nachos with our drinks. The pub is small and cosy, but I guess it is better in the summer if you can enjoy the beer garden outside. The downside was there wasn’t a lot of variety in drinks. We ended up staying just for a quick drink (and the nachos) but we quickly moved on to another place. As I said I guess the beer garden must be more enjoyable.

Some notes

I am sure you will all know about the new rules for the pandemic times but still…Don’t forget to wear a mask when coming in and if walking around the restaurant for any reason. Also my advice is to book the restaurant is advance to avoid disappointments.
