Bath – Tips and Ideas

No car

I advise you to choose a place to stay with free parking so you can just leave the car and be free of driving during the weekend if your plans only include Bath. Every single place we visited was close enough for us to walk and to be fair in the middle of Bath it is quite tricky to park. The main attractions of the city are close to each other in a very walkable distance. Walking is always the best way to know a place as you can focus on the details of the architecture or to stop to admire the scenario in front you.

Book in advance – everything!

It is not only important that you book in advance the places you want to visit such as the Thermae Bath Spa or the Roman Baths but also the restaurants or places you want to go for drinks. Bath is quite a famous city, definitely one of the most known in England and as such you can imagine there are always a lot of tourists. For you to have an idea I called Wednesday before going to book the restaurant “The Herd” and the only availability they had it was Saturday at 5pm or at 9pm! In conclusion it is important that the hot spots of the city are booked well in advance to avoid disappointments.

Christmas

We visited this city during Christmas and also during COVID-19. For that reason, even though there wasn’t any Christmas market the city was proper decorated for the season. If you are a fanatic of Christmas, Bath is such a cute city that embrace strongly the Christmassy feeling.
